Traces of Places and Spaces
I remeber an instructor I had at the School of Visual Arts, Algis Balsys I believe, who lamented that we kids were so young and inexperienced. He said we knew nothing about. We had no knowledge of the world beyond our front doors. He wished that he could meet up with us again in the future after a war or two, a few kids, divorce, and maybe a death or two. Then maybe, maybe, we might have something to share - something to say. And then, learning photography, he would imbue us with the ability to communicate all that pain very well.
In 1987 I was awarded an international exchange with a Parisian College on rue d'Ulm near the Pasteur Institute. I was young, optimistic and comepletely out of my depth. I loved every minute of it. Even being stopped by gendarmes who swore I was an Algerian militant or a Moroccan seeking illegal residence couldn't diminish my enthusiam. Paris filled me with wonder and infected me the travel bug. then and there I knew I would continue traveling around the world until I discovered who I was. And then I would tell anyone willing to listen.

I began photographing in 1980 when my sister-in-law returned home from Germany and loaned me her camera during Christmas. I was hooked. I had a new one by Valentine's Day.
We are nothing without editors. It's too easy to love everything we do. I grew up in an era where we shot film and color slides. The demands for perfection were very high and unforgiving.
I use Bootstrap, HTML%, CSS3 and Wordpress for a variety of sites and presentations. It's a new digital world.

The person we hired for the assignment had a great portfolio but now we are starting to think they weren't his images. We need a re-shoot quickly but the budget is mostly spent. Can you save us?
